Wendy Alexander

Chief People Officer

Wendy Alexander leads people and organizational strategy at CapitalG. She's drawn to the role because she believes great investing is, at its core, a team sport, and she's spent her career helping high performing teams figure out how to work, grow, and win together.

Wendy Alexander

I joined Google in 2004, holding multiple leadership roles across the Global Business Organization as it scaled Google's people and products. Along the way, I spent 4 years commercializing new ad products for YouTube and 2 years launching Google's first online sales office in Boston, growing the team from 0 to 100+.

Regularly recognized as a top performing people manager, I brought that same team-first instinct to CapitalG to focus on finding, developing, and coaching high performing teams in a fast paced and ever changing environment.

I attended Stanford University, where I was also a captain, Pac-12 (RIP) champion, and All American on the women's rowing team, serving as early proof that I've always been drawn to what makes teams work. I now live in Marin County with my husband (a Boston native whom I met during my Google time there) and our 3 kids. In my spare time I enjoy writing and delivering toasts at social events, mostly for people who certainly did not ask me to do so.
