Every system fails at its constraint. I look for these hidden limits across the technology stack. Whether the barrier is silicon, legacy architecture in cybersecurity, or specialized labor in healthcare, finding the constraint reveals exactly where value pools next. The most compelling companies remove a bottleneck so completely that the entire market must reorganize around them.

Identifying a market shift is only the starting point. The rest comes down to the people building. I look for founders who see an industry differently than the people running it, and who have the conviction to actually build what they see.

Before CapitalG, I evaluated early and growth-stage technology companies at Bain & Company and worked in strategy at Orum, a fintech startup later acquired by Stripe. Both showed me that the constraints worth removing rarely fall quickly. The companies that remove them are built over years, and I aim to be a patient partner for that work.
