Jeremiah Gordon

General Counsel / Chief Compliance Officer

Jeremiah Gordon is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at CapitalG where he leads the firm’s legal strategy, fund operations and regulatory affairs. He is a pragmatic business oriented leader who was drawn to this role to shepherd investments in new technologies and business models through the evolving legal and regulatory landscape.

Prior to CapitalG, I was a member of Google's M&A and investments legal team. I represented Google on numerous significant transactions, including its original $900M investment in SpaceX and the multi-billion dollar divestiture of its set top box business. I was the founding general counsel for CapitalG leading the establishment, fund formation and creation process with its Limited Partner.

I started my corporate legal career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where I represented leading technology companies, entrepreneurs and investors in significant transactions and business challenges. I live in San Mateo, where I serve on non-profit boards and am an avid and lifelong 49ers fan. I earned an AB in Economics from Princeton University and a JD from Harvard Law School.
