Janelle Tealdi is the Controller at CapitalG, where she oversees financial reporting, technical accounting, and fund management while partnering across the portfolio company lifecycle from due diligence to exit. She leads the development of CapitalG’s fund and portfolio data systems, creating tools that deliver real-time insights to drive informed decisions.

As Controller at CapitalG, my core focus spans the entire portfolio company lifecycle. I partner closely with our team from initial due diligence and investment execution through ongoing portfolio monitoring and eventual exits. Alongside this operational support, I oversee our financial reporting, technical accounting, and fund operations, ensuring full compliance and rigorous financial oversight across our funds.

A key priority of my role is building and maintaining our critical fund and portfolio data architecture. I focus on developing scalable tools and data systems that provide our team with direct access to reliable, real-time metrics. By transforming complex financial data into actionable insights, I help our investment team and firm leadership make faster, better-informed decisions.

Prior to CapitalG, I was part of Google’s M&A finance team, supporting numerous acquisitions and strategic investments across the company. I began my career in audit at EY before moving to PwC, where I focused on financial due diligence primarily for private equity clients. Outside of work, I am an avid reader, an aspiring tennis player and golfer, and a full-time chaser of my two young sons.
