Director of Tax

Andy is the Director of Tax at CapitalG, where he leads the firm's tax strategy and compliance. A seasoned venture tax specialist, Andy is drawn to the intersection of complex fund operations and strategic tax planning that enables funds and founders to scale efficiently.

In my role at CapitalG, I lead our tax function—handling compliance, structuring complex transactions, and collaborating with investment and operations teams to navigate an evolving regulatory environment. I am drawn to this work because I enjoy bringing order and strategic clarity to complex financial structures so our funds and portfolio companies can scale seamlessly.

Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to the asset management space, developing deep expertise in venture capital tax structures. I joined CapitalG in 2021 as Tax Manager before stepping into my current role. Prior to CapitalG, I served as Tax Director at Lightspeed Venture Partners, managed fund tax operations at Kleiner Perkins, and built my foundation in public accounting within PwC’s Asset Management practice.

I hold a B.S. in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis. Outside of work, I am an avid traveler and am always on the hunt for new restaurants and hidden culinary spots to try.
