Wendy Alexander is CapitalG’s Chief People Officer where she has been leading all people-oriented initiatives and programs since 2018.
She joined Google in 2004 and spent 14 years fortuitously watching and contributing to its massive scaling of people and products. In that time, she held multiple leadership roles throughout the Global Business Organization, which was focused on supercharging growth of both small customers and large agencies using Google’s ad products. For four years, she informed monetization strategies and commercialized new ad products for YouTube, culminating in leading Google’s media planning and audience targeting strategy team. She also spent two years launching Google’s first online sales office in Boston, growing the team from 0-100+.
Regularly recognized as a top performing people manager, Wendy joined CapitalG to continue her work recruiting, training, developing, and coaching high performing, diverse teams in a fast paced environment.
Wendy holds a BA in American Studies from Stanford University, where she also was a captain, Pac-12 (RIP) champion, and All American on the women’s rowing team. She now lives in Marin County with her husband (a Boston native whom she met during her Google time there) and 3 kids. In her spare time she enjoys writing and delivering toasts at social events, mostly for people who certainly did not ask her to do so.
