Rick Crawford

Rick is a VP of Business Development at CapitalG where he helps portfolio companies grow. His operational experience spans more than two decades, during which time he built several engineering and sales teams. He also has extensive experience in data and machine learning, having brought several products to market.
Rick joined CapitalG in 2024 from Google Cloud, where as a sales leader he helped shape its retail strategy. Before working at Google, Rick created a search company that transformed how companies like Walmart explored product catalogs. Earlier in his career, Rick was instrumental in helping several startup companies scale, including Endeca Technologies (acquired by Oracle) and Plumtree Software (IPO, acquired by BEA).
Rick holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from UC Davis. Outside of work he enjoys traveling with his family and is an avid cyclist.
